The Cuban minister is accompanied by Council of States official, Dr. Elia Rosa Lemus that runs Miracle Operation.
Lemus said the clinic in Benguela, near 261 miles from Luanda, now works at two thirds its capacity but will be able to perform some 100,000 operations.
Still, this one in Benguela has already made some 1,300 operations, including 423 of cataract, pterygium 307 and glaucoma (79).
Lemus said the eye clinic in Benguela is the second such facility in Africa (after Mali) with cutting edge technology to treat some 27 eye illnesses.
Both have helped near 7,800 patients improve their sight and like other 32 countries are backed by Cuban specialists that via Operation Miracle have already treated over one million people.
