His poem Brujunilda, la Maga received the second prize in the competition, whose announcement demanded for an unpublished poem to be sent, which could be no more than sixty verses.
The piece was selected among 140 competing and the awarding will take place next September.

This author has achieved the La rosa blanca award on three occasions. This is the highest award given to written literature for children and young people in Cuba and he was also a Special Mention in the Casa de las Américas 2005 competition, among other prizes.
His novel Pipe, Felipe, Cabeza de Trapo is currently undergoing the process of publication by the editorial house Ediciones Holguín.
Luis Caissés lives in Holguín and is a Theater specialist from the Staging Arts Provincial Council.
