The Cuban film La edad de la peseta (That Silly Age), by Pavel Giroud, was screened at Mexico’s Cinemanía Loreto as part of the Alternative Cinema Season presented by La Jornada newspaper, the National Cinematheque, and Macondo Films.

With a script by Arturo Infante, and Luis Najmías as photographer, Ulises Hernández in charge of music, and performances by actors Mercedes Sampietro, Susana Tejera, José Ángel Egido and Iván Carreiras, the film has won more than 20 prizes in international festivals, the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s website reports.
