An article posted on the organization's website says Elena Linares, with the political bureau, expressed solidarity with the countries hit by the hurricane, reports Granma newspaper.

The article recalls that nearly 100 people died in Haiti, Dominican Republic and Jamaica with the passing of the category 1 hurricane, and noted that it reached Cuba as a category 4 of 5 in the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale with gusts of more than 340 Km/h; however, there was no human loss there.
