Julian Gonzalez Toledo, president of the National Performing Arts Council, made the announcement to Granma newspaper.

The popular festival that brings together theater troupes from around the country this year was to feature 20 plays and a tribute to the premiere of Electra Garrigo, by director Virgilio Piñera, and the 50th anniversary of the Teatro Estudio (Theater Studio) and its creators Raquel and Vicente Revuelta.
