The MINTUR also reported flights from the United Kingdom, Germany and Canada are scheduled to arrive at Cayo Guillermo and Cayo Coco, north of Ciego de Avila; Varadero, main Cuban resort 87 miles east of Havana; Cienfuegos, south-center Cuba; Manzanillo in the southeast; and Holguin in the northeast.
During the hurricane 105 clients were relocated in Santiago de Cuba in equal or higher quality rooms to guarantee the safety of both tourists and workers.
Resorts in Varadero, Havana, Jardines del Rey, Villa Clara, Cienfuegos, Santiago de Cuba, Holguin, Trinidad, and Granma, and local airports are steadily running, at the time hurricane Ike damages are being repaired.
Cuba has an infrastructure of over 46 thousand rooms distributed around the eight main tourist resorts and is visited by more than 2 million tourists from all over the world every year.
