Brazil, silver medallist in Beijing, will face Mexico later on the day. After playing the Americans, Orlando Samuel’s disciples will have a day off; to then face Argentina to close the preliminary stage.

On the 27 the qualified teams will play the semi-finals while the other two teams will discuss the fifth position. Next day will be the final and the bronze medal match.

Brazil has won 3 editions of the American Volleyball Cup (1998, 1991 and 2001) while United States won in 2005 and 2007.
