Warapo play many kinds of music, including fusion, pop, rock and disco. The band is excellent at singing Cuban songs, particularly current Latino music, which is admired by almost all young people in Havana.
In 2004, the song Dolor y pena by Warapo became famous quickly and was broadcast many times on Havana radio. Also, the band made records after selling its album with the song Mala vida carrying characteristic mixed melodies such as el cha-cha-cha, pop, la guaracha, el son, rock and other Caribbean tunes.
Two years later, Warapo took part in the Mundo Maya international music festival held in Palenque city, Mexico, and held a tour in Cuba nationwide to commemorate the 10th year of its establishment.
After many years, Warapo has become well-known along with other famous Cuban bands, including Chucho Valdes, Van Van, Cesar Portillo de la Luz, Pancho Cespedes, Elena Burke, Jose Luis Cortes and David Alvarez.
Warapo’s latest album entitled Tengo Nada, has been nominated to compete for the 2008 CubaDisco award, the most prestigious music award in Cuba.
