According to a report from the World Cup’s official website, the Salomon team surprised the Caribbean team with an early goal by Rangono in the first minute. After recovering from the first shock, Yuliet Olivera scored in the third minute, followed by Carlos Madrigal´s in the sixth, to give Cuba a lead it never lost again.

Yulier Olivera, Carlos Madrigal, Olivera, Boris Saname and Eduardo Morales all scored for the Cubans to make it 5-1 at the interval.
