The 2008 International Drums Festival to Collect Relief Aid for Cuba

The program includes a concert between drum players, an International Contest, and the presentation of outstanding women who play drums, by the musical groups Anacaona, Caribe Girls, Son Damas and Obbini Bata. There will also be master lectures by outstanding Cuban and foreign musicians.
For the closing activity, stars like Moises and Son Iya (Canary Islands) and Cuban Havana D, Primera, Klimax and Pupy and Los Que Son Son are announced.
La Tropical´s Pink Room, headquearters of the Cuban Yoruba Cultural Association, will host the event.
Damage caused by hurricanes Gustav and Ike has been estimated at 5 billion dollars, with almost 500,000 houses destroyed or damaged.
