During the concert, the artists sung poems from Antonio Guerrero´s book "Poemas Confidenciales" (Confidential Poems), which is a chant to realities and dreams, affections and feelings, convictions and principles.
On behalf of the Cuban Embassy in Argentina and the Cuban Five, Orestes Hernandez thanked the organizers of the concert for their effort.
Sponsors included the Canto de Todos project, the Simon Bolivia Social and Cultural Forum, the Town Hall and the Argentinean committee for the release of the Cuban heroes.
"The recital is a well-deserved tribute to the resistance expressed by Guerrero, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez, who were arrested on September 12, 1998," the Cuban diplomat said.
He noted that the concert also commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution and the Cuban people´s tenacity to rebuild the country after being hit by two hurricanes.
Performers included Horacio Fontova, Paula Ferre, Gabriel Zequeira, Alejandra Rabonovich, Pablo Fernandez, Duende Guernica, Mota Luna and the duet Probados, who expressed their will to take part in similar events to demand the release of the Cuban Five, as they are known internationally.
