Part of the celebration was a performance by Moscow's Sretenskiy Monastery Choir at the Minor Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi, located in Old Havana.
On the other hand, the day was also propitious for a Cuba-Russia business forum on management communication strategies in commerce and industry.
Russia's ambassador to Cuba, Mikhail L. Kamynin, stressed that his country will be enhancing economic, cultural and spiritual ties with Cuba and other Latin American countries.
He said that with regards to Cuba, Moscow will actively foster collaboration with Havana in areas such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, communications and information technology.
