The General Director for Cinema of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Assets, Gaetano Blandini, and the president of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC), Omar Gonzalez, signed the agreement, which establishes mutual

commitments in the production, exhibition, distribution, restoration and preservation of films, and also in the training of personnel.

Meanwhile, also on Friday, the Cuban National Culture Award was presented in Havana to renowned Italian intellectual and cultural promoter Daniele Lorenzi, for his outstanding work over the years in the promotion of

cultural relations between his country and Cuba.

The award was presented to Lorenzi by Cuban Culture Minister Abel Prieto.

During the awarding ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Fernando Rojas, made reference to Lorenzi’s infinite solidarity with Cuba, his confidence in the Revolution, and his cooperation with different publishing, movie,

and community projects in the Caribbean nation.

Lorenzi described the ceremony as "an unprecedented emotion in my life" and recalled the work carried out in Cuba by his late fellow countrymen Tom Benetollo and Loris Romagnoli, who, he said, "would have loved to

share this moment with me.”
