capital of Guatemala and was dedicated to the development of television, stated a report from Prensa Latina.
The movie collects the presence of the Cuban doctors in the Central American country since their arrival in 1998, after the passing of hurricane Mitch, their solidarity work during storm Stan, and the work that is being
currently done.
The premiere of the documentary took place in the Metropolitan Cultural Center, the former Mail building, during the opening of the artist encounter that is taking place for the fifth year on a row in Guatemala.
This sort of events reinforces the friendship between our people through art and culture, said in the event Ricardo Rodríguez, director of the Hispanic Center from the capital.
Omar Morales, the Cuban ambassador in Guatemala, highlighted the links that unite both countries and the coincidence that two poets from Bayamo, Perucho Figueredo and José Joaquín Palma, are the authors of the
Cuban and Guatemalan hymns, respectively.
Morales thanked the collaboration of the municipal town hall, the University of San Carlos and other higher education centers, as well as that of many institutions that collaborated with the preparation of the Encounter.
