Most projects come from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Cuba, Mexico, Uruguay, Venezuela, Bolivia and Brazil.
A committee will evaluate the materials to choose five finalists, which will be announced on November 15.
An international five-member jury will grant the award, which will provide funds to the award-winning filmmakers to complete their audiovisual works.
Havana's 30th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema is scheduled from December 2-12.
The Industry Section, which will be first held this year, includes five categories: Latin American Script Workshops, Ibero-American Films Crossing the Borders, New Looks, Latin America First Copy, and Cuban Audiovisual Market.
