Lula da Sivla was accompanied by the Social Communications Minister Franklin de Souza Martins, Sports Minister Orlando Silva, Chief Advisor to the Presidency Marco Aurelio de Almeida Garcia and the ambassador to Cuba Bernardo Pericas Neto, among other personalities.
Attending the meeting on the Cuban side were First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Vice President Carlos Lage, Basic Industry Minister Yadira Garcia and the VP of the Cuban Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas.
Cuba and Brazil reestablished diplomatic relations in June 1986, and both countries maintain solid cooperation relations.
This is Lula da Silva’s third visit to Cuba after he became Brazil´s President.
