The donation was made by the Indian ambassador in Havana, Mitra Vasisht, during a meeting with Ramon Ripoll, the Cuban First Deputy Minister for Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation (MINVEC).

According to Granma news daily, also present in the meeting were Alberto Blanco, head of the Asia and Oceania Department at the Cuban Foreign Ministry, as well as other Cuban and Indian officials.

On behalf of the Cuban people, the MINVEC official thanked Vasisht for this noble gesture of the government and people of India.
