Leigh is one of the guests of honor at the Havana audiovisual festival along with Brazilian Eduardo Coutinho, who will screen seven films until December 12.
Today's agenda also include Brazilian films "Tropa de elite" (Elite troop), by Jose Padilla, and "Los desafinados" (Those out of tune), by Walter Lima, and Venezuela's "El enemigo" (The enemy), by Luis Alberto Lamata.
Also on the list are Mexican Gerardo Naranjo with "Voy a explotar," Guatemalan Julio Hernandez with "Gasolina" (Gasoline), Argentinean Pablo Trapero with "Leonora," Chilean Pablo Larrain with his second full-length figure film "Tony Manero," and new director Jose Luis Torres with "El cielo, la tierra y la lluvia" (Sky, land and rain).
Among documentary films are "La proxima estacion: historia y reconstruccion de los ferrocarriles" (Next station: history and reconstruction of railways), by renowned Argentinean filmmaker Fernando (Pino) Solanas.
Alfredo Guevara, president of the Havana festival, launched Wednesday his book "Y si fuera una huella?" (If it were a trace), an almost 50-year collection of his correspondence.
