The so-called high season –lasting from from November to April- opened uneventfully and the province counts on enough provisions to meet the usual arrival of most of the tourists from December on, added Novoa.
The official also said that MINTUR owns 12 resorts in Sancti Spiritus province run by Cubanacán SA, Islazul and Gaviota SA. Trinidad’s Iberostar Grand Hotel reports the highest occupancy this year.
Sancti Spiritus’s resorts have been mostly visited this year by tourists coming from Canada, Germany, France, Spain and Great Britain. On the other hand, it was known that the island has been already visited by two million tourists this year.
