Some of the topics to be discussed during the meeting include the state of science and technology in the contemporary world; trends of scientific journalism; and documentation techniques, resources and information for specialists of the sector, among others.
Participants will also analyze aspects of the so-called pseudo-science and evolutionism, the importance of scientific debate and the ‘transversality’ of social sciences.
During the opening session of the seminar, Dr. Osvaldo de Melo, of the University of Havana, will offer a lecture on nanotechnology and new materials.
There will also be a panel called ‘University for All’ with representatives from the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment (CITMA), the National Museum of Natural History and the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
