The exhibition, named "Project of Freedom" includes paintings by some ten artists with different aesthetic proposals, but all of them share the same content.
"Power to the People," an oil painting on handmade paper by Ernesto Blanco, is one of the works displayed at the Arenal exhibition hall in city of Holguin. A series dedicated to Yoko Ono, by young artist Yoxy Velazquez is another highlight of the exhibit.
According to the exhibition's curator, art critic Danilo Lopez, "Project of Freedom" is an experimental project that does not respond to the market's criteria, nor to the swings of orthodox traditions. It is a call to legitimize a man that transcended in time due to his sense of humanity.
The film "Lennon, a legend", about the former Beatle who is a symbol of peace for the world, was played at the end of the inauguration ceremony.
