At the same time, Cuba received the Bronze Bitácora in the category of Best Promoted Foreign Tourist Destination. Brazil and Mexico won the gold and silver awards, respectively.
According to experts, more than 1,200 travel agents and specialized institutions voted for the best candidates in each category.
Some 42,000 Argentinean tourists are expected to travel to Cuba this year, and that number might increase to 45,000 in 2009, so more flights will be available between the two countries during the first two months of next year.
