The president of the Instituto Cubano del Libro, Iroel Sanchez said at press conference that the fair will be held throughout the country, but in lesser cities than last year´s due to the recent damages caused by hurricanes Gustav, Ike and Paloma.
The main new titles will be presented, though, in over 40 hurricane-hit municipalities.
Among the proposals of the Letras Cubanas publishing house is a re-edition of La consagración de la primavera, by Alejo Carpentier and a Silvio Rodriguez song book.
Arte y Literatura will present books by the Argentina´s Jorge Boccanera (La pasion de los poetas), Chilean Volodia Teitelboim (Por ahi anda Rulfo), and the Swedish Lasse Soderberg (Las piedras de Jerusalen), to mention just a few.
The fair that receives more than four million visitors every year will end on March 8 in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba.
