She recalled that since 1983, when the first contingent visited Cuba, the island has received close to 1 000 solidarity activists from the Southern Cross Brigade as a bridge of friendship and solidarity.
The members of the Southern Cross Brigade will remain in Cuba until January 21st and will carry out an intense program which includes voluntary work, visit places of historic interest like the Ernesto Che Guevara Memorial in the city of Santa Clara and exchanges with Cuban women, students and workers.
They will also participate in conferences on the Cuban revolutionary process, its legal system, meetings with the families of the five Cuban political prisoners incarcerated in the US for fighting terrorism, tour working centers and visit the Museum of the Revolution.
