Experts from the Office of the City Historian are restoring the eclectic building that will house the museum.
The Museum of Anthropology will have galleries for permanent and temporary exhibitions, and will organize workshops and lectures on preservation and restoration.
Camagüey's major buildings include the Metropolitan Cathedral and Town Hall (1775), the former Philharmonic Society (19th century), and La Volanta Restaurant, which is in an 18th-century Spanish-colonial house.
