Cuba to Establish Gyno-obstetrician Day

The ceremony will take place at the Gyno-obstetrics Hospital named after the famous patriot, a pioneer of Obstetrics studies in Cuba who devoted over 30 years to the teaching of this speciality in the Caribbean archipelago.
Attending the ceremony will be the specialist’s of this field, whose work has allowed Cuba to reduce the birth mortality rate to 4.7 per thousand, the lowest in 2008 in the Americas and in Cuba’s history.
Eusebio Hernandez y Perez lived from 1853 to 1933 and fought alongside Lieutenant General Antonio Maceo in the Independence war against Spain.
