As a result of initiatives led by the Cuban tourism office in Moscow, there was an increase of 10,000 Russian travelers to Cuba last year compared to 2007, said Hernandez, who highlighted the increase in spite of the growing world economic crises.
Hernandez said one of the main appeals for the Russian travelers is the traditional bonds between the two nations. He also mentioned the Cuban culture and nature as some of the main attractions as well as the hospitality of the Cubans and the safety the country offers.
