The 2008 tribute included the reopening of the exhibition of plastic arts Compay Segundo 100 años (Compay Segundo, hundred years) at the Lonja del Comercio of this capital city.

The exhibition, dedicated to the musician is made by pieces created by the hands of important creators such as Fabelo, Sosabravo, Kcho, Zaida del Río and Choco, among many others.

An important function corresponded to the Compay Segundo Museum House, a place of interest for Cuban and foreign visitors.

At the same time, the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, one of Cuban famous hotels, gave members of the group of the disappear artist the Bastón de la Fidelidad, the main recognition that entity gives distinguished guests.
