It also supplies recombinant human erythropoietin, the vaccine against hepatitis B and the factor that stimulates the growth of granulocytes, which is administered to patients who undergo bone marrow transplants.
The Center also produces skin growth factor, which is used to treat burned patients, and recombinant human streptokinase, which is administered to patients suffering from heart attacks.
The reagents are also used in diagnostic kits to detect prostrate cancer and vaginitis, as well as in research projects.
