Malmierca expressed that after the passage of several hurricanes on Cuban national territory in September 2008, many countries gave their support to the Caribbean island in a sign of solidarity, and he specially mentioned the African countries.
Wetangula was grateful for the warm welcome given to his accompanying delegation, and added that this Inter Governmental Mixed Commission will make concrete agreements in the fields of sports and education, among others.
The diplomatic relations between Cuba and Kenya were established on October 9, 1995, with several collaboration projects implemented.
Until 2007, 14 Kenyan young people had graduated in different higher education specialities in the Caribbean island.
Now, 43 other Kenyan young people are studying in Cuba, 12 of them at Cuban public health institutions.
