One of the members of the delegation, Jorge Torres, said that their visit was caused by their wish to know Cuba first hand, and to build, by way of art, a bridge of dialogue and knowledge, and to share a reality that awakens the interest and solidarity of Colombian artists.
Besides the works of the visitors, the exhibition also shows pieces by several artists who couldn’t travel to the archipelago on this occasion, and also by creators from the Cuban province of Villa Clara.
The program includes performances and exhibitions at some of the city’s cultural institutions, among them the Leopoldo Romañach Art Academy and the Manuel Ascunce Domenech School for Art Instructors.
Also scheduled are lectures by specialists, the performance of the Estudio Teatral group from de Santa Clara - now celebrating the 20th anniversary of its founding-, and visits to the Ernesto Guevara Memorial and other historical places.
