The exhibition is taking place at the wide Derrama Magisterial Auditorium (teachers society) and is organized by that institution.

Jorge Luis Arteaga, vice-president of the Derrama Magisterial board of Directors highlighted in the opening ceremony the importance of the revolutionary victory the 1st of January 1959.

Arteaga indicated that, due to that transcendence, his institution organised the cinematographic season, in order to make public the different stages of that beautiful history.

Pastor Rodríguez, Minister Council of the Cuban Embassy, thanked Peruvian solidarity with his country and highlighted the friendship links between the two people.

Talking about the importance of the documentary, he indicated its use for a better knowledge of the Cuban reality, in front of the manoeuvres of the enemies of the revolution to hide the reality of the island, confuse and cheat.

The season includes the documentaries Piedra sobre piedra, by Santiago Álvarez; Antes del 59, Andante cantábile and Momentos con Fidel, by Rebeca Chávez; y Che Guevara and La solidaridad internacional, by Manuel Pérez.

The season also includes Los 4 años que estremecieron la isla, by Daniel Díaz, and Una isla en la corriente, by Daniel Torres.
