Gomez found Moncada in the University of Havana on October 9, 1972. From then on, the group has shared the stage with great international music stars, among them Joan Manuel Serrat (Spain), Toquinho (Brazil) and Carl Palmer (UK).
Since it was created, it has put 15 albums in the market with songs like “Lo Bailaste Mañana”, “El Pasito de la Bibijagua” and “Tu Mirada.”
Moncada won the Cubadisco Award in 1999 in the category of Multimedia, with a CD called “Moncada Enhanced”, and in 2003, in the category of Anthology, with another production called “Moncada: Three Decades.”
