Children and adolescents from public schools in Hamilton, Canada, will participate in this staging of the version of the classic children tale. They will be selected after undergoing a workshop taught by Professor Kenia García and choreographer Eduardo Blanco.
The performance of Hansel and Gretel will take place on Sunday, April 27 in the Hamilton Place Theater and the main roles will be played by the dancers Regina Hernández, Yadil Suárez and Denisse Salvent, together with members from the Canadian Ballet Youth Ensemble.
Founded in 1998 by Alicia Alonso, the Dance Department from the National Ballet aims to transmit, through a number of courses and workshops, the methodology of the Cuban ballet school, and its teaching work has taken place also in countries such as Mexico and Spain.
