The celebration will also include a colloquium about the life of the Cuban National Poet and his relationship with his friend the Chilean literature Nobel price winner, Pablo Neruda.
Every month there will be spaces in the country to emphasise his legacy and his trajectory.
One of the most important meetings, explained the organisers, will be a congress, held in the central province of Camaguey, the born city of the author of Motivos del Son.
In July, coinciding with the anniversary of his death, intellectuals and figures linked with his work will gather together in this location to pay him a tribute.
Another special moment will be the opening, the 14 of April, of a panel about the relationship of Guillen with the Cuban Revolution, which is celebrating its 50 anniversary.
A universal poet and compromised intellectual-, as expressed his grandson, Nicolás Hernández Guillén, he died the 16 of July 1989. Among his work it is worth mentioning El son entero, Elegía a Jesús Menéndez y La muralla.
