The Cuban representatives will gather the last century's 70's avant-garde jazz players, along with the talented musicians that came out of the Jojazz Festival.
As preliminary to the Jazz Plaza, on February 11th several performers will hold a party to homage the Festival's initiators with a small concert, called Jojazz con Tumbao.
This Festival will start with a concert by great Cuban pianist Chucho Valdes, on the 12th at 7 p.m. at Mella Theater, who will introduce his latest work, Akokan Ire, and will have Buenavista Social Club diva Omara Portuondo and Beatriz Marquez as special guests.
On the 12th and 13th, there will be a colloquium at the Cultural Community Center in the Plaza municipality, in which American musician Kash Killiou will deliver a keynote speech and a workshop on the making of music instruments.
