Cuban President Satisfied with Visit to Russia
On assessing his official visit to Moscow and his interview with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the head of states said the negotiations unfolded in an auspicious environment and consensus on the matter approached.

Raul calls it rebirth of the development of trade ties, of exchange in unexplored fields like setting up joint ventures amid steps to study new ways of collaboration under the current conditions.

Raul Castro, who arrived in Russia on January 28 invited by Russian peer Dmitri Medvedev, said the 2000 visit of Putin started a new period of Moscow-Havana collaboration.

He mentioned progress in terms of cooperation which he called moment to re-launch bilateral ties.

The Caribbean leader also lauded Medvedev's late November work visit to Cuba and the work of the intergovernmental commission led by vice premier Igor Sechin and Council of Ministers Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas.

He also reminded Sechin's four visits to Havana along the past six months prior to the 9th Intergovernmental Commission for Economic-Commercial and Scientific-Technical Collaboration in Moscow.

The Cuban head of states voiced satisfaction with the turn out of his visit to Russia, his first as President, and called the parties to keep up working with the same strength, implementing the agreements signed.

Putin lauded the positive turn out of the official talks and the level the relations have attained lately.

We are pleased that political dialogue at the highest level grows alike other spheres, he noted with respect with reciprocal visits by the heads of state within two weeks.

The Russian Premier noted the dynamics of economic, commercial and financial contacts that led to sign pacts on hydrocarbons, electro-energy, communications, naval constructions, car industry and Russian GLONASS satellite navigational system.

The meeting with Putin was followed by interviews with Medvedev on Thursday and Friday, first in private, then with the respective delegations.

Raul Castro arrived in Russia on January 28 and ended his visit on February 4, nearly 25 years after his previous visit to Moscow.
