Cuba Fights, Prevents Drug Traffic
Last year 1801.19 kilograms of drugs were confiscated, including 260 packages that arrived on the coasts, mostly linked to an international drug trafficking operation. Granma daily reported that maneuver was frustrated by the US Coastguard, based on information provided by Cuban authorities.

Despite reports about huge volumes of drugs being taken along routes close to Cuba, only 44 suspicious ships and 4 planes were detected near national territory.

According to the Interior Ministry, 13 drug trafficking operations were miscarried at Cuban airports, with the dealers attempting to merchandise to third countries or sell it here.

In addition, 121 tourists were caught with small amounts, and faced customs measures in line with the Cuban legislation.
