The delegation was headed by Oussama Adi, president of the Cuba-Syria Friendship Association and a member of the Regional Command of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, and was accompanied by members of the Central Committee of this political organization.

According to Granma news daily, during their stay in Cuba, the visitors met with ICAP leaders as well as the Secretary General of the Cuban Workers' Union, Salvador Valdes Mesa, and with Orlando Lugo Fonte, President of the National Association of Small Farmers.

The visiting delegation also met with Fernando Remirez de Estenoz, head of the Foreign Relations Department at the Central Committee of Cuba's Communist Party (PCC).

The first meeting of solidarity with Cuba in Syria will take place in the second half of the year.
