Specialists and representatives from countries such as Spain, England, Italy, Mexico, United States, Brazil, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Argentina and Cuba are participating in the event.

According to the Trabajadores weekly, the protection of workers' labor and social rights amidst this world crisis is one of the main topics for discussion in this meeting that is taking place at the Hotel Nacional in the Cuban capital.

The program of the event also includes panels and round tables to analyze topics such as the importance of union organizations in the current world context, privatization policies, the increase of informal labor and the existence of inappropriate working conditions that lead to labor accidents.

The meeting is sponsored by the American Association of Jurists, the Latin American Association of Labor Lawyers, the National Union of Cuban Jurists, and the Americas Secretariat of the World Union Federation.
