For the President of Cuba´s Culinary Associations Federation, Eddy Fernandez, the event will show cooking as a symbol of cultural identity among peoples, as part of its heritage, customs and traditions.

According to local station Radio Rebelde online, some 300 delegates of 25 countries will take part from September 21-25 in the gastronomic fiesta to be held in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba.

The event that will take place in the Heredia Theater of Santiago, will be attended by a hundred Cuban experts and participate together with their foreign peers in workshops on typical Cuban and Caribbean food, wine and food matching and other courses.

Famous French chef Gerard Dupont was present at the ceremony where the Organizing Committee for this festival was formed.

The also President of the French Culinary Academy was declared Member of Honor at the celebration, refers the website of the radio station.
