The album is a sort of musical tour through her sixty years of artistic life where Omara interprets several songs together with Silvio Rodrígez, Pablo Milanés, Chico Buarque, Chucho Valdés, Cachaito López, among others, said Jiménez.
The Cuban singer began her career as a dancer in the famous cabaret Tropicana and she was a member of the quartet known as Las D’Aida for fifteen years.
“We toured around America and the vocal arrangements by Aida were very touching. We were acclaimed everywhere and when Nat King Cole played in Tropicana, we sang with him,” remembered Omara in a recent interview made public here. In her life Omara has shared the stage with Edith Piaf, Pedro Vargas, Rita Montaner, Bola de Nieves and Benny Moré, among many other famous people.
An important moment in her career was when she was part of the Buena Vista Social Club and she recorded an album with important musicians that received a warm welcome by the critic and lead her on a tour around the world in 2000 and 2001.
