Cuban Poet Luis Marre Bestowed National Literature Prize

After receiving the distinction the eighty-year-old writer recalled his childhood and his first steps into poetry and he revealed that his best loves have been his family, his homeland and poetry, meaning creation.
The jury made up of outstanding scholars valued the nominees to the annual prize; they stressed the significant contribution made by every candidate to Cuban literature and they described Marre as one of the major writers of generation of 1950 Cuba.
Other annual awards to be granted include the categories of design and editing.
