The Avilanians increased the potato collection rhythm in the lands of four state enterprises, three agricultural production cooperatives and in properties of individual producers.
This harvest increase is due to the reorganization process that has taken place in the agricultural sector of the territory to intensify food production after the devastation caused by Hurricane Ike in Ciego de Ávila.
According to estimates, by March it is expected the collection of over 800 000 quintals of potato, 135 000 of plantain and 133 000 of tomato.
