Amores explained that although the deterioration of the world economy can hinder development, there are still opportunities to expand bilateral trade, which at the end of 2008 reached about 10 million dollars, with a trade balance favorable to Malaysia.
The Cuban diplomat pointed out that his country is still recovering from the damages caused by three hurricanes last year, which resulted in losses worth some 10 billion dollars, included the destruction of half a million houses.
