Cuban Peoples' Power National Assembly President Ricardo Alarcon kicked off Wednesday a visit to Ecuador, to attend a forum of Latin American parliamentarians.

The meeting "Political analysis and identification of opportunities in moments of crisis" will present opinions on the critical world economic situation, and there will be a final declaration on this issue.

Alarcon and MPs from other 13 Latin American nations will be welcomed today by Ecuadorian assembly members at the National Assembly headquarter.

National Parliament leader Fernando Cordero stated that the aim is to draw up a common declaration to create the Latin American conditions to face the world economic crisis.

The forum will take place in the city of Cuenca, in southern Azuay province.
