The contingent was seen off at the airport by members of the Cuban diplomatic mission in that Central American nation and by local authorities from the Ministry of Education.

The group joins the 130 students from Belize now studying medicine on the archipelago, both at ELAM and at institutions pertaining to the New Doctor Training Program.

At present, 194 Belizean are studying different specialties in Cuba and another 145 have graduated from university institutions since the scholarship program began on the archipelago, the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s website reports.
