Participants in the project have performed in more than 80 communities in the municipalities of Guantánamo, Yateras, San Antonio del Sur, Imías and Maisí, among others.

The program, which also includes performances in Baracoa and Yumurí, will consist of about 200 performances in more than 130 communities.

The Theater Crusade, which received the National Community Culture Award in 1999, involves companies from eastern Cuba mainly and other parts of the country.

The project brings theater to all sectors of Cuban society and involves local people in the plays.
