Executives from Havana Club International S.A. pointed out that the company will take advantage of the fact that Havana Club is among the world's top 25 rums.

In 2008, the company produced 3.4 million boxes, accounting for a 13-percent increase in sales.

Havana Club rum is sold in 125 countries, 40 of which reported more than 10 percent in sales last year.

Germany is the major consumer of Havana Club rum, reporting a 26-percent increase in sales, followed by Italy, Spain, Greece and Canada.
