This protocol renews the one already existing since 2003, when Turkish academic authorities visited the island, and it also adds an appendix that reads the mutual desire of creating a Centre for Latin American Studies in Ankara, as well as a Department of Turkish Culture in Havana.
This agreement represents an important step for cooperation between both institutions, promoting as the teaching of the Turkish history and culture in Cuba as Latin American in Turkey.
The rector of Ankara University Cemal Talud expressed his satisfaction for the agreement during his intervention and extolled the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Cuban Revolution and his admiration for the ideas of those who created it, like Jose Marti.
The Rector of Havana University visits Turkey fulfilling an invitation made by Ankara University Rector.
